It was only when people forced food upon us that we ate and, though I really don't know how this works, being so upset made it hard to chew food. It seemed like such a chore and I didn't feel I had the energy for anything more than a couple of bites at every meal. My very amazing and supportive friend, Amy, had recently been through something like this herself. Amy took it upon herself to make sure that all of our needs were being met. She scoured Whole Foods Market for various vegan foods she thought she might be able to make us eat. She thought that if we couldn't eat much solid food, at least she could get us to drink something. And that's when she found Sambazon Protein Superfood Smoothies. 

I still remember sitting in the living room trying one for the first time. It was SOOO good and I remember being extremely thankful that there was something like this that I could drink to keep me going. Not only did it give my body some of the things it needed to survive that time, but it was oh so delicious. I actually enjoyed drinking it at a time when I thought I really couldn't enjoy anything. I think that I must have had a Sambazon Protein drink for breakfast for at least a week straight after that. Since then, I have decided to use these as a reward to get myself to do something healthy (like go to the gym) on days when I really don't want to. (Finding motivation for a lot of things is much more difficult when you are actively grieving.) I am so grateful for all of the people who have helped us since my dad died and I am so grateful for this product! This is most definitely one of my favorite products ever!
